Saga Egmont and Drive Studios Launch Strategic Partnership for Cross-Format Storytelling

The publishing house Saga Egmont and the TV and film production company Drive Studios are launching a strategic partnership with the goal of developing stories that can reach audiences across multiple formats.

By combining expertise in literature, audio, TV, and film right from the concept stage, the partners aim to create stronger narratives, greater reach, and new opportunities for both creative talent and audiences.

The partnership is part of Egmont’s commitment to working more holistically across different content areas and developing ideas and rights with a clear multi-format perspective. By identifying stories with potential across multiple platforms from the very beginning, better conditions are created for long-term development and increased value in each project.

As part of the collaboration, Saga Egmont will present a curated selection of titles and projects with potential for adaptation to TV and film, while Drive Studios will contribute original ideas and concepts that can be further developed within the publisher’s various publishing formats. The focus is on stories with strong creative and commercial potential.

“We see a great opportunity in working more closely together across publishing, audio, and video to develop stories that can thrive across multiple formats right from the start.

For our authors, this collaboration means new opportunities to reach a wider audience and have their works adapted for new platforms.

What particularly appeals to us about Drive Studios is that they – like us – work quickly, flexibly, and with a clear IP perspective. We share a common vision of how to build and develop strong narrative universes, which makes the collaboration both natural and forward-looking.

Together with Drive Studios, we can create a stronger path from idea to finished story, regardless of format”

– Stephanie Andén, Publishing Director at Saga Egmont.

– With our strong catalog of high-quality commercial stories, we see great potential for more of our books to make the leap to film and TV. Through our partnership with Drive Studios, we gain a partner who can help us identify and develop the titles with the greatest potential to reach a broad audience beyond the book market, says Therese Dahlqvist, Editor-in-Chief at Saga Egmont Sweden.

For Drive Studios, the partnership represents an opportunity to work more closely with strong literary rights and stories that already have an established audience, while also developing new projects with multiple formats in mind from the very beginning.

“Our long-term goal is to establish a lasting creative partnership that will strengthen the development of Nordic content with the potential to reach an international audience. We see a clear strength in simultaneously developing content for different platforms, which can help ensure market diversity. The partnership with Saga Egmont gives us the opportunity to work strategically on developing strong IPs that can exist naturally across books, audio, and TV
