Rasmus Klump is Travelling to New Markets – First Stop Norway and Germany

Rasmus Klump P/S, which is partly owned by Saga Egmont, now has concrete plans to publish audiobooks in Norway and multiple formats in Germany as a first step in a larger project of bringing the lovable character’s universe to new readers across Europe.
Rasmus Klump P/S, which is 50% owned by Saga Egmont, is now taking the first steps in the plan to deliver on the promise to bring ‘Rasmus Klump’ to new audiences. By securing a deal with publisher Cappelen Damm in Norway and planning to publish under Saga Egmont’s own brand in Germany. This is the most recent development since the news of the acquisition back in March 2025.
The Norwegian deal: “Bamse Bjørn”
Saga Egmont is excited to announce the ‘Rasmus Klump’ deal with the long-term Norwegian collaborator Cappelen Damm, who is Norway’s biggest publisher.
“We have a strong focus on well-produced children’s audiobooks, and the initiative of Saga Egmont is a perfect fit – to bring Rasmus Klump back to the Norwegian market as audiobooks.” – Håkon Havik, Audiobook Publishing Director at Cappelen Damm.
The deal with Cappelen Damm will bring the stories of “Bamse Bjørn” (Rasmus Klump’s name in Norway) to Norwegian readers and listeners in 2026 already. Saga Egmont and Cappelen Damm will start by recording a number of existing titles from the back catalogue.
The German publishing plans and beyond
Saga Egmont is also exited to announce the plans to republish “Rasmus Klump” in Germany.

“We are excited to be re-introducing Rasmus Klump to the German market in 2026 to mark his 75th anniversary. Working closely with our strong partners, we plan to publish Rasmus Klump in all formats – from exciting audio plays to beautifully illustrated children’s books – to ensure that the universe of Rasmus Klump continues to captivate new generation.”– Thilde Nybro Pfeifer, Publishing Director Saga Germany.
Rasmus Klump P/S is currently working on securing deals with collaborators in multiple markets – working towards bringing the “Rasmus Klump” world to more international readers.
Publishing Director Lasse Korsemann Horne reveals what to expect in the future:
“Petzi – as Rasmus Klump is called internationally – used to be an established childrens book character in Scandinavia, Germany and France. Petzi has been entertaining children for many decades – now we are working to make Petzi known and loved again by developing new, contemporary stories and re-establishing old partnerships with former licensees. In Germany, however, we will be publishing Petzi under our own brand. It will take years, but it is an exciting journey – and an exciting journey should indeed take time. – Lasse Korsemann Horne, Publishing Director Saga Egmont
