Kokosbananas: Popular Norwegian Children’s Book Series Dominates Streaming Charts in Sweden and Finland

The popular Norwegian children’s series, Kokosbananas, is currently topping Storytel and Bookbeat’s children’s charts in Sweden and is prominently placed on The Bookseller Association in Finland’s ‘What Finland Reads’ list.

While the books have had great success in their original market, they are brand new to Swedish and Finnish audiences, who are only just discovering the series – and it seems these new markets have already given it a warm welcome.

“We’re thrilled to see Kokosbananas taking off in Sweden and Finland,” says Stephanie Andén, Publishing Director for Global Licensing at Saga Egmont. “It’s a testament to the power of a fun and inventive universe that appeals to both kids and adults – and works well in several markets.”

The charming children’s book series follows the adventures of an inventor who’s half coconut, half banana. The success of Kokosbananas reflects the impact of its engaging storytelling and infectious humor and is proof that great storytelling truly transcends borders.

The books are released as audiobooks, each of them brought to life with vivid sound design, catchy songs, and a dynamic performance by voice actors. These enhanced productions have added to the listening experience and helped the series stand out in crowded children’s content markets.

The first Kokosbananas books were released in Finland between April and June and in Sweden in June by Saga Egmont.
